Imogen Kate Ladmore Meanderings and memories

My body of work consists of laceworks, paintings and a concertina panel. The paintings use charcoal, acrylic paint, pencil and subtle carving, their mark-making inspired by the textures of my natural environment – ripples, bark, shadows and atmosphere. The experimental organic laceworks use traditional Irish crochet lace techniques to weave together ancestral floral motifs. These ‘fragments’ of landscape represent my entwined personal memories of environment and experience, drawing inspiration from topographical views and the patterns I encountered on my expeditions. Finally, the concertina panel expresses a process of experimental record, featuring eco-dyeing processes and pencil drawings.
