In Octopal illusion the curious, anthropomorphic octopus represents the wonders and intricacies of the natural world. By incorporating images of these captivating creatures into a series of familiar manufactured objects, I remove the utility of the items in a Duchampian manner and suggest a hidden world of beauty and mystery in a scene of everyday life. My body of work creates a surreal world with the intent of communicating a sense of playfulness and wonder.
