The inspiration for my body of work was to highlight the problem of food wastage. I want everyone to value everything we have, and to understand that nothing is permanent. It will all eventually be gone or rotten. After choosing the design for the fruits I carved them, drawing on my personal experience with fruit carving which I learnt from my dad. I photographed the fruit composition with different coloured backgrounds and filmed it using time lapse, setting the camera to photograph every two minutes, focusing on different angles. I used a compost accelerator to speed up the process of decay.
