Jack Dixson Jahn Circular Quay redevelopment
Good architecture is very important for a city. It can rehabilitate dysfunctional sites, improve our cities and create a renewed, perhaps multi-faceted usage of terrain. Circular Quay is a transport, cultural and social hub; Sydney’s crowning jewel. It should be a stage for the very best that we have to offer. My design proposes redevelopment plans for the foreshore, behind the ferry wharfs, considering issues of flow, amenity and site usage to open up the city to the harbour. From a conceptual approach, I amalgamate aesthetics and function through models, drawings and sculptural experiments.
