Frozen in time captures split moments in a busy snowy cityscape. A few magical, nostalgic moments are ‘frozen’ by the camera. I have always been drawn to the romantic cityscapes of French Impressionist artists such as Pissarro, Gustave Caillebotte and Patrick Antonelle. American photographer Rinze Van Brug was also a major inspiration for me to create this image of the city under snow. I have admired the pointillist techniques of other Impressionists such as Monet, and tried to replicate that same quality of illusion in my work. Upon close viewing the work is made up of small dots and strokes but as you step back the image is revealed.
